FEMORAL CATHETER

A femoral catheter is a tube that is inserted into the femoral vein or artery in the pelvis or groin to provide vascular access: Femoral vein catheter. A central line that provides long-term access to blood vessels for IV medication or other treatments. It can be used in situations where many IVs would be required, which can harden veins and make them harder to access. A catheter inserted into the femoral artery to measure blood pressure or inject contrast medium for angiography.
